After seeing Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors this past December with Dave Barnes, I knew I had to buy his album that was just released on Feb. 8, titled Chasing Someday.
I was far more inclined to make the purchase after hearing the single “Fire & Dynamite” (see the video below). The first single proves to be a perfect melding of rock sensibility and a love story. Guitar solos connect each verse that illuminates the vocal stylings of both Drew and wife, Ellie.
Drew and wife Ellie’s vocals not only compliment each other in this song, but throughout the entire album. From the up-tempo “Miracle” to the melodic “Anywhere But Here,” the pair’s voices harmonize to the lyrical excellence that tells of their own love story.
More highlights of the album include bluesy “Can’t Get Enough of You” and the homegrown sound of “Baby Tomorrow.” Truly, there isn’t a bad song on the album and any fan of good pop/rock with touch of gospel undertones should give it a listen.
