DAMONA WAITS NEW ALBUM CELEBRITY WORSHIP SYNDROME

Published on July 1st, 2011

“I hate the boy I used to be/In spite of what it’s done for me,” bellows Damona Waits front man Denis Desloge on the song “Overatted” from their second album.  The bands pulverizing hard rock sound counteracts with the albums frequent melodic blaze and lustrous instrumental interludes.  Drummer Chase O’Neal plus bassist Tyler Badgett equals a rhythm section that could pummel your mothers front porch sidewalk better than a jackhammer from a machinery hire company.  Lead guitarist Andrew Simmons knows how to pick his spots displaying a blistering solo on “Another Tuesday” and by taking it down a couple notches with a reflective and soulful lead on “My Direction.”  Well rounded and urgent, Celebrity Worship Syndrome embodies everything that is great about the North Carolina rock and metal music scene.
