Over the last decade heavy metal has seen a surge of young progressive-minded groups come out of the woodwork. One such band, arguably at the helm of this movement, is Chicago’s Born of Osiris. Just barely out of their teens, this flagship group have made a name for themselves with their impressive musicianship and relentless touring. I got the opportunity to talk with vocalist Ronnie Canizaro, guitarist Lee McKinney, and keyboardist/vocalist Joseph Buras this past weekend at the Bay State Metal Festival. We touched upon the success of the band’s latest album, upcoming music video, their metaphysical influences, and some very exciting touring plans.
