According to a press release obtained by n3tel there’ll be a whole lot of Beatles® music in the DC area as the summer draws to a close. Here’s the 411 on what’s expected (quoted from the M2 Maximum Media press release.)
“Washington, D.C. (August 6, 2012) – Thirty bands and 200 musicians from around the world will “come together” to perform unique never-before-seen concerts at this year’s Abbey Road on the River Concert Series, which will take place at the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor – August 30 to September 3. In addition to each band paying tribute to the Fab Four in their solo performances, event producers have handpicked musicians from these bands to lend their talent to present twenty innovative concerts, which will surprise fans with new arrangements of the beloved classic rock songs from the 60s.”
Jefferson Starship will perform on Friday August 31 with the songs “Somebody To Love,” “Miracles,” “White Rabbit,” “Volunteers,” “Count On Me,” among others.
“A Tribute Concert to recently departed Davy Jones and The Monkees will be held on Monday, September 3, and additional Beatles album concerts will be performed, such as: Magical Mystery Tour, LSB&B, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Help!, The Beatles Anthology, Beatles For Sale, and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which celebrates its 45th anniversary of being released this year. Concert-goers can also enjoy a Beatles merchandise marketplace, Beatles film screenings, and seminars.”

n3tel will be photographing as much of the event as humanly possible, risking sunburn, poor nutrition, sore feet and lack of sleep. Actually, Those aren’t risks, they’re pretty much guaranteed. I’ll review each band’s performance, and since they’re from all over the world you’ll likely have one of them performing near you at some time in the future! With NMM you’ll know what to expect!
