This year’s Hopscotch 2012 Music Festival was another step forward for the up-and-coming music festival. In its third year Hopscotch and it’s organizer (www.IndyWeekly.com) took a different approach, booking a large part of its acts from North Carolina, contuing their effort to keep things local. While you could find a lot of music from all across North Carolina, big acts such as The Roots and Built to Spill & The Mary and Jesus Chain blessed City Plaza with a several enchanting sets.
While the weather was hit or miss – bands like Escort didn’t get a chance to perform due to a rain delay – the festival was a great success. Regardless if you were just trying to explore new sounds or see your favorite artists, Hopscotch delivered another successful music weekend in downtown Raleigh.
